Igniting Dreams, Shaping Futures in STEM: Kerubo Mang'era

Kerubo Mang’era’s journey epitomizes the power of perseverance and the transformative potential of education. Despite facing numerous challenges, Kerubo’s unwavering commitment to STEM education and her passion for making a positive impact on her community have propelled her forward.

Born into a family of four children, Kerubo’s childhood was marked by financial constraints and the struggles of her schizophrenic father. Yet, amidst these adversities, she emerged as an exceptional student, consistently demonstrating academic excellence. Her determination to succeed was fueled by a desire to alleviate the burdens on her family and contribute to the betterment of society.

Her academic achievements paved the way for her pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Chemistry with Management. Her passion for STEM stems from a deep-rooted desire to utilize her skills to address the pressing issues facing her country and continent.

Despite her academic prowess, Kerubo’s journey was not without its challenges. The lack of financial resources often threatened to derail her aspirations. She sought out opportunities for scholarships and financial aid, refusing to let circumstances dictate her future, and she got the WAAW Foundation scholarship in 2021.

Kerubo’s commitment to STEM education extended beyond the classroom. She took on the responsibility of establishing the KU chapter of the WAAW Foundation’s STEM program, a testament to her leadership qualities and her drive to inspire others.

As Kerubo continues her academic journey and pursues her career in STEM, she remains committed to making a positive impact on her community and beyond. Her story serves as an inspiration to all, demonstrating that with perseverance, determination, and a passion for making a difference, anything is possible.

Kerubo Mang’era is a beacon of resilience and a shining example of the transformative power of education in the STEM field.
