Truth Mapiki is an empathetic pharmacy student whose career choices were forged by her childhood in Zimbabwe, where she helplessly observed community members constantly struggling to access basic pharmaceutical and life-saving healthcare resources. Determined to act, she began her advocacy on campus by establishing and managing weekly peer study groups, volunteering her time to break down complex clinical chemistry modules for struggling female classmates. As a WAAW Scholar, Truth is utilizing her pharmacy education to build a legacy centered on equitable patient care, intending to lead medical research efforts and manage community health grids that optimize life expectancies for underserved families.
