Mushimishiyimana Souzane is a second-year horticulture student at the University of Rwanda who channels her technical agronomic training directly into rural public service. Disturbed by the visible patterns of malnutrition and food scarcity affecting families in her home village, Souzane stepped up to initiate and lead a localized community horticulture project that systematically upskilled households in efficient vegetable production and intensive farming. As a WAAW Scholar, her career path is set on becoming a professional horticulturist and certified agricultural extension specialist, dedicated to equipping rural African farmers with modern, climate-resilient, and highly sustainable crop cultivation practices.
