Elizabeth Samuel is a resilient tech enthusiast majoring in Computer Science at ISBAT University, motivated by the systemic realities faced by young girls in South Sudan who are often denied the foundational privilege to study and dream. When she arrived on campus in 2022, she noticed that the South Sudanese student demographic completely lacked formal leadership structure and was absent from major institutional networks like the annual Culture Gala. Refusing to stay silent, Elizabeth rallied her peers, formed an official student association, and successfully coordinated a vibrant cultural showcase that brought South Sudanese heritage to the forefront of the university ecosystem. As a WAAW Scholar, she is combining her community organization skills with rigorous software development to engineer digital spaces that expand access to education for vulnerable East African girls.
