2024 has been an incredible year for us at WAAW Foundation and we want to take the last moment to reminisce on the past months. We’re grateful for the milestones we’ve achieved and the lives we’ve impacted together. From empowering girls in STEM, to training educators and connecting fellows across African countries, this year has been a journey of impact and growth.

Here’s a look back at our top 10 highlights from 2024—moments that inspire us to keep pushing for a brighter future in STEM for African women.

  1. Reached 22 African countries through C2S programs: This year, our College-to-Secondary School (C2S) program expanded to 22 African countries! Through the hard work of our fellows, we connected with thousands of young girls, introducing them to the endless possibilities within STEM. Watch this video of one of our outreaches
  2. The 2024 Fellows Summit in Accra, Ghana: Our annual Fellows Summit brought together 28 young women from across Africa to share ideas, learn, and grow as leaders. It was an inspiring week filled with collaboration, networking, and bold ideas for the future of STEM education. Read about the summit here
  3. Trained 169 Teachers on Blended Learning Strategies: In November, we hosted a transformative webinar to equip teachers with blended learning strategies.
