Chinenye Ezeakor has a background in Electrical Engineering. She had her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Then she proceeded for her Masters in Electrical Engineering at the University of Leeds, Uk.

She got involved with other organizations that are after youth empowerment. She was a member of AIESEC, GOOGLE and DELL communities on campus. She also involved herself in several developmental projects.

She currently works as an Equipment Engineer at Advanced Semiconductor Material Lithography in the Netherlands. They are the world’s largest producers of lithography machines.

She is a co-founder of a non-profit organization called Empowering Africans through education initiatives, they provide stem education training and materials for students and teachers in Nigeria. She started the organization two years ago with her friend. Her desire to start her organization started when she was invited for a program in Germany, and the conveners of the program were searching for people in Africa that are enthusiastic about STEM education. The organization is currently in partnership with her.

She aims to grow gradually, she has other organizations that are similar partners in countries like South Africa and Kenya.

Chinenye advised the WAAW fellows to be very strategic and network more. Also, they should stay on top of the latest technology trends and be actively involved in their communities. Then of course academically go for the best they can achieve.

She also advised that they get a mentor along the way. That it really helped her as she got a lot of insights into positioning herself properly and also career advice.
