APPLICATION FOR 2020 SUMMER ROBOTICS CLASS IS OPEN!
LEARN ROBOTICS, SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING AND GET INTRODUCED TO THE WORLD OF TECHNOLOGY.
Participate in an 8-week online robotics class from August 31st – October 24th, 2020. The robotics class is designed for boys & girls between the ages of 8-18 years to gain practical experience in introducing programming language, carrying out computations to make decisions, and performing actions in the real world using the mBot and EV3 LEGO robots. The goal of this class is to make students acquire the ability coding and programming skills, develop innovative designs, control of robots and to direct the development of engineering solutions in new or unfamiliar environments by linking creativity, innovation and transfer of technology.
About the Classes
Mbot robot: mBot is an all-in-one solution to enjoy the hands-on experience of programming, electronics, and robotics. It aims to allow students to engage in practical, hands-on learning rather than the traditional main focus on theoretical knowledge. The step by step instructions enables students to program a robot from scratch and experience the joys of hands-on creation.
EV3 robot: Lego Mindstorms EV3 (evolution 3) is the third generation robotics kit in Lego’s Mindstorms line. The EV3 robot is designed to teach core computer programming logic and reasoning skills using a robotics engineering context. This lets students build and program five starter robot models; a programmable power brick, motors, color, touch, and infrared sensors, to help the robot move and communicate.
At this stage, the two main programming languages used in robotics: C++ and Python. C++ is used in control loops, image processing and to interface low-level hardware. Python is used to handle high-level behaviors and to quickly develop tests or proof of concepts.
