We are very excited to welcome Ms. Frances Van Sloan who recently joined WAAW Foundation’s executive board as our Chief Operations Officer. Prior to joining WAAW Foundation, Frances was the Assistant Director at Wolfe Ridge Camp, an Outdoor Learning Center in Minnesota. Frances worked with WAAW Foundation this summer as our STEM Robotics and Renewable Energy Camp director and facilitator in Lagos, Nigeria.
Frances will now be leading and directing our programs – STEM cell outreach, STEM Camps and Scholarship Initiatives. She will structure the process of the STEM Cell Outreach and train all fellows in STEM curriculum. She will be largely involved in the day-to-day operations of WAAW processes and procedures.
Frances served as the Assistant Director at Wolf Ridge ELC Camp in Finland, Minnesota where she has experience training and working with staff and counselors. She has planned big events and activities for staff and campers, and dealt buy modafinil online with camper situations that got too difficult for counselors to handle. Frances is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of St. Thomas University in Minnesota with a lot of hands on experience teaching Robotics and Renewable energy modules, and has had the amazing opportunity to travel to Uganda, Africa to help install solar powered lighting (about 100 lights in 40 homes and a school) in a small village in Ntungamo District. Now having a great love for the people and culture of Africa, she has joined the WAAW Foundation team and was excited to return to Nigeria, Africa to serve as camp director for the 2013 WAAW STEM camp which held in Lagos in July 2013.
