WAAW SCHOLARSHIP ALUMNI – MY SUCCESS STORY

I am Rebecca Nanjala a graduate of Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi Kenya, and an alumni chapter lead of the WAAW Foundation STEM outreach program at the University of Nairobi Kenya. I won the WAAW Foundation scholarship in 2015 when I was in my 3rd year of university. College was expensive, the scholarship money contributed directly to my education fund since I was going through a financially stressful moment that college adds to life. The scholarship made my dreams seem like a reality as I was able to focus more on school work.

I graduated in 2018 with a degree in Civil Engineering and I am currently working as a graduate engineer in Kenya with a key focus on projects that improve transport, mobility, trade and development facilitation. The outreaches to the secondary schools gave me an opportunity to give back to the community. I am still involved in initiatives that support women in construction.
