During the Easter holiday, WAAW Foundation fulfilled the mandate to engage and equip young minds with Computer programming skills through our 2018 Code School program. It was so exciting to see the creative abilities of these kids come alive in just 5 days!
Both boys and girls between the ages of 10-17 from different backgrounds had access to real world technology and 21st century curriculum delivered by experienced facilitators. They were trained on:
Web Development (Using HTML, CSS & Wix),
2D animation Using SCRATCH,
3D Animation Using JAVA (ALICE),
Programming Microcontrollers Using ARDUINO
Renewable Energy from Solar and Wind,
With fun games and real-world scenarios, our participants were introduced to the world of programming and each day, the kids were eager to see new ways of creating animations, websites, controlling hardware components and various sources of Renewable Energy. They also worked on assignments and presented their projects to access their level understanding.
Their parents were so happy to see their projects and the overall impact on their kids. It was really a wise decision bringing them to learn new skills. Susan Ofeimun, the Operations Associate and STEM Trainer said, “These kids can really do a lot when given the opportunity to explore, play and share”
On the closing day, certificates and gifts were presented to outstanding students. So, don’t be told about the next one, ensure you experience it. Look out on all our media platforms for more information.
